Crochet Baby Blanket

Materials List

Yarn- Red heart soft solid

• 3 skeins in color off white
• 1 skein in color black
• 1 skein in color pink or any color you like

Hook Size

• Us I/9 (5.5mm)
• Yarn Needle

Blanket

With White Ch 83,

1. Hdc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across, turn (82sts)
2. Ch 2, sk 1st hdc, hdc in next hdc and in each hdc across to end, hdc in top of turning ch turn.
3. Repeat row 2.
4. Repeat row 2, changing to black in last hdc.
5. With black, ch 1, sc in each hdc to end and in the top of ch 2, turn.
6. With black, ch 1 sc in each sc to end,changing to white in last sc, turn.
7. With white, ch 2, sk 1st sc, hdc in next sc and in each to end, turn
   repeat rows 2-7 for stripe pattern 10 more times, then repeat rows 2-4 once omre. fasten off

Edging

1. Attach pink yarn in any st, ch 1, sc evenly around all 4 sides and work 3 sc in each corner, join with sl st in 1st sc, turn.
2. Ch 3, sk next sc, hdc in next sc, ch 1, sk next sc, repeat until you get to corner then hdc,ch 1, hdc in corner and in every other corner,repeat to end, join in 2nd ch of ch-3, turn.
3. Ch 1, sc in same st as joining, 3 dc in next hdc, sc in next hdc, repeat to end, join in 1st sc.
4. Sl st in next dc, ch 1, sc in next dc, sk next 2 sts, 2 dc in next dc, 3 tr in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, sk next 2 sts, repeat to end working 3 tr in each corner, join. Fasten off.

Large Flowers

If this blanket will be for boy you do not need to make the flowers.
With white ch 5, join with sl st in 1st ch to form ring.

1. Ch 1, 15 sc in ring, join with a sl st in 1st sc.
2. (Ch 4, sk next 2 sc, sl st in next sc) 4 times, ch 4, sk last 2 sc, join in 1st ch of ch 4-5 ch 4 loops.
3. Ch 1, (sc,dc,2 tr,dc,sc) all in ch 4 loop, repeat to end, join.
4. ( Ch 5, sl st between next 2 sc between petals) 4 times, ch 5, sl st in 1st ch of ch 5-5 ch 5 loops. Fasten off.
5. Join pink in any ch-5 loop, ch 1, (sc, 2 dc, 2 tr, 2 dc, sc) all in ch-5 loops, repeat to end join and fasten off.

Small Flower

With white, ch 5, join with sl st in 1st ch to from ring.

1. Ch 1, 15 sc in ring, join. Fasten off
2. Join pink in any sc, (ch 4, sk next 2 sc, sl st in next sc) 4 times, ch 4, sk next 2 sc, sl st in 1 st ch of ch 4-5 ch 4 loops.
3. Ch 1, (sc, dc, 2 tr, dc, sc) all in ch-4 loops, repeat to end Join. Fasten off.

Bobble Center

Make 5
With black, ch 2 (yo and draw up a loop, yo and draw through 2 loops) 4 times all in 2nd ch from hook, yo and draw through all 5 loops on hook. Fasten off leaving a tail for sewing. Sew bobble center to flowers. Sew flowers onto blanket. Weave in ends.
