Slip st across first 3 hdc, * (slip st, ch 3, 3 hdc) all in next ch-3 space of previous row; repeat from * to last ch-3 space; slip st in last space; turn, do NOT make a block in last space. Finish off.

So, to make this square to will need to make 3 rows of each color while putting 3 rows of white in between each color, when you get to the 13th row, you will start to dec at the start of row 14, making sure to follow your color pattern.

Now you need to put your squares together, you will need to lay out your square in the pattern you want like I did in the photo, left side is the back and right side is the front.

Now you need to sew them together, you can do this any way you want but I just use sc to put the square together. The squares need to be put together so that they all line up or you won’t get the diamond pattern.

Now it’s time to make these into a shirt, you want to sew the side of the shirt together, sew from the second row down.

Now you will work 102 st’s around neck, but not on back.

Row 1: 1 hdc in next 15 st’s, dec next st, repeat to end.
Row 2: 1 hdc in next 14 st’s, dec next st, repeat to end.

Row 4: 1 hdc in next 12 st’s, dec next st, repeat to end.
Row 5: 1 hdc in next 11 st’s, dec next st, repeat to end.
Row 6: 1 hdc in next 10 st’s, dec next st, repeat to end.
Row 7: 1 hdc in next 9 st’s, dec next st, repeat to end.
Row 8: 1 hdc in next 8 st’s, dec next st, repeat to end.
Row 9: 1 hdc in next 7 st’s, dec next st, repeat to end.
Row 10: 1 hdc in next 6 st’s, dec next st, repeat to end.
Row 11: 1 sc around the whole neck.

Last thing to do is to work 2 rounds of sc around the arm holds and bottom of the shirt. Once you have done that you can enjoy your shirt.
