Hdc Star
Stitch
– Hdc star stitch forms rows of starburst-like stitches, each worked with
multiple loops.
Round
2: Yarn
over
insert
your hook into the second chain from the hook. Yarn over and pull through 2 loops,
yarn over insert hook into next ch yarn over and pull through 2 loops, repeat
until you have 6 loops on hook. With 6 loops on your hook, yarn over one more
time and pull through all 6 loops. Chain one. This finishes the star. It also
creates an "eye" in the center of the star. Next, yarn over and insert
your hook into the "eye" that you just made, yarn
over and pull through 2 loops. Yarn over insert your hook into the space
between the two last spikes from the first star, yarn over and pull through 2
loops. Yarn over insert your hook into the same chain where you worked the last
stitch of the previous star, yarn over and pull through 2 loops. Yarn over insert
your hook into the next chain, yarn over and pull through 2 loops. Yarn over
insert your hook into the next chain, yarn over and pull through 2 loops. Yarn
over and pull through all loops. Chain one to close the second star. Repeat the
steps above to make stars all the way across the row. When you get to the end,
make one hdc in the last stitch.
Round
3: Turn
your work and chain 2, 2 sc into the eye of the star in the row below. When you
get to the end, crochet 2 sc in the final stitch.
Round
4-5: 1
sc in each st.
Round 6:
Repeat
rounds 2 to 5 until dress is the length you need for the top part of your body.
You will need to measure the top part of you body to make this dress the size
you need, once you have your measurement you will need to subtract it from the
first part of the dress by measuring it.
Note: You
may want to try on your dress to make sure it fits, if it’s to big you will
count how many st’s you have and divide that number in to a number that go’s
into it evenly then subtract 2, once you have that number you will sc to the
number and then dec, you continue to dec (Switching in between colors, making 2
rounds of each color) until dress fits right.
Example:
256
(st’s) / 8 (how many dec I want) = 32 – 2 = 30 (The number of st’s I sc before
I dec)
To
continue to dec you would go one number down so if you did 30 then 29 is the
next number of st’s before yo dec.
After
two rounds of dec my dress still wont fit right so I counted my st’s again and
decided to dec more in one round so it wont take so long.
Now
that both parts are done you will sl st or sc the sides together. Once both
parts are together then you can continue the pattern until the skirt is as long
as you want.
