What You Need:

Crochet G 4.0 Hook

Yarn Needle

Scissors

Yarn- Any medium weight yarn. I have 5 colors

Purple-P, Light Purple-LP, Dark Purple- DP, Blue-B, White-W

Note: You may use whatever color you want for your project, even though I did use these colors I ran out of some of these color when I started to make the circle into a square, there for I started to use the color I had on hand to finish the project.

Round 42: Ch 1, 1 dc in next 10 st’s in LP, 1 hdc in next 10 st’s in LP, 1 sc in next 42 st’s in LP, 1 hdc in next 10 st’s in LP, 1 dc in next 10 st’s in LP, 5 tr, ch2, 5 tr in ch 2 sp in LP, 1 dc in next 10 st’s in LP, 1 hdc in next 10 st’s in LP, repeat to end. Join.

 

Cut LP

Round 43: Ch 1, 1 dc in next 20 st’s in DP, 1 hdc in next 20 st’s in DP, 1 sc in next 2 st’s in DP, 1 hdc in next 20 st’s in DP, 1 dc in next 20 st’s in DP, 5 tr in skipped sp in DP, 5 tr, ch2, 5 tr in ch 2 sp in DP, 5 tr in skipped sp in DP, 1 dc in next 20 st’s in DP, 1 hdc in next 20 st’s in DP, repeat to end. Join.

Round 44: Ch 1, *1 tr in next 21 st’s in DP, 1 dc in next 40 st’s in DP, 1 tr in next 21 st’s in DP, 1hdc in next 20 st’s in DP, * repeat to end. Join.

 

This round will be in back loops only

Round 45: Ch 1, *1 hdc in each st to corner in DP (or whatever color you want), 3 hdc, ch 2, 3 hdc in top st on the corner in DP(or whatever color you want), * repeat to end. Join.

 

Round 46: Ch 1, Insert your hook into the next st. Yarn over and pull a loop through, insert your hook into the next st, yarn over and pull through. There are now three loops on the hook. Continue to insert your hook into subsequent st’s, yarn over and pulling through until there are six loops on your hook. With six loops on your hook, yarn over one more time and pull through all six loops. The loops create the "spikes" that make up your first star. Chain one. This finishes the star. It also creates an "eye" in the center of the star. Next, insert your hook into the "eye" that you just made. Yarn over and pull through. There will now be two loops on your hook. Insert your hook into the space between the two last "spikes" from the first "star." Yarn over and pull through. There will be three loops on your hook. Insert your hook into the same st where you worked the last stitch of the previous star. Yarn over and pull through. There will now be four loops on your hook. Insert your hook into the next st, yarn over and pull through. Repeat in the next chain. This will give you six loops on your hook. Finish this second star as you did the first one. Yarn over and pull through all six loops on the hook. Chain one to close the second star. Repeat the steps above to make stars all the way across the row. Join at end.

 

Round 47: Ch 1, 2 hdc in each eye of the star in LP.

 

Round 48-49: Ch 1, 1 sc (BLO) in each st putting 3 sc, ch 2, 3 sc in each corner. You can do these rows in any color you like my is in a multi-color purple.

 

Round 50: Repeat round 46 and 47 in whatever color you want I used a dark purple.

 

Round 51: Ch 1, skip next st, 2 dc in next st repeat until you get to the corner ch 8 skip 8 and repeat to end. Use whatever color you want I used a Light Purple.

 

Round 52: Ch 1, Popcorn st in the sp in between the 2 dc from the last round. Ch 1 in between each popcorn st, use whatever color you want I used a multi-color purple. Once at the ch 8 sp ch 5 and put 1 popcorn in the middle st in the round below. Ch 5 and continue pattern to end.

 

Popcorn St: Work 3 double crochet (dc) stitches in the same stitch, Drop the loop from your hook, Insert your hook from front to back under the top 2 loops of the first double crochet of the group, Grab the dropped loop with your hook and pull it through the stitch.

 

Round 53: Ch 1, 1 sc in next st, skip next popcorn st, 1 sc, 1 dc ( in st blow the popcorn round) 1 sc in the space in between the popcorn st, repeat to corner, once at corner put 5 tr ( wrap around 3x) in ch 5 space, ch 2, 5 tr (wrap around 3x) in ch 5 space in the one below this round, repeat to end. I did this in white.

 

Round 54: Ch 1, 5 dc, ch 2, 5 dc in next dc, sc in next dc repeat until corner, 5 dc, ch 2, 5 hdc in first ch 5 space, 1 sc in ch 2 space in round before, 5 hdc, ch 2, 5 hdc in next ch 5 space, repeat to end, I did this in Dark Purple.

 

Round 55: Ch 3, back post sc in sc, repeat to corner, 1 sc in next 5 tr’s, back post sc in sc, 1 sc in next 5 tr’s repeat to end. I did this in white.
